WHY THE FIRST NATURAL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS EXHIBITION WAS SO SUCCESSFUL ?

Every participant – visitor and exhibitor alike commented on the unique upbeat atmosphere that permeated throughout the first Natural & Organic Products Exhibition. Organisers of exhibitions and special events strive to bring that ideal combination of compatible visitors and exhibitors together in one exhibition complex. Few exhibitions ever achieve this. The Natural & Organic Products Exhibition hit this magical combination in the Sandton Convention Centre in June 2004.

Our visitors came to learn, taste and sample, more importantly - they came to buy products that would add value to their lives. Our exhibitors had interesting and informative exhibits. From Woolworths to OAASA (the Organic Agricultural Association of South Africa), everyone was treated to a harmonious blend of lively demonstrations, education and product awareness. This unique energy translated directly into sales.

We all witnessed the South African natural and organic market sector emerge from a niche market and take its place in the global movement. One major retailer is expecting sales of organic products to boom. They are predicting that sales will jump 15 times over the next 12 months. They are not alone. The two largest retail groups in South Africa are both looking for aggressive growth in their natural and organic sales. Their collective concern is getting reliable suppliers who can produce the volumes that the market is anticipating.

The market shift is overwhelming, and today natural and organic products can be found in almost every store. South Africa has more than 1800 companies already operating in the natural and organic marketplace. Many are small and hard to find.

Our first Natural & Organic Product Exhibition put 123 companies with vision on center stage. They showed the retail market what is now available. They educated consumers on healthy options that will suit their changing lifestyles.

The Natural & Organic Products Exhibition was a showcase for these companies, their products and services. It was a living, exciting event, covered extensively by the media, which attracted major buyers and consumers.

The exhibition and conference was the official launch of the South African natural and organic industry - its coming of age!
